I wrote this song for some friends who were getting married. Though the pressing need for something appropriate to play at the reception might have got the ball rolling, it’s a sincere appeal to everyone to follow that happy couple’s example and take the chance that fate (or love) hands you.
Go be young and be happy
Go out and mess around
‘Cos when you’re young and you’re happy
You don’t wanna settle down
Go out and mess around
‘Cos when you’re young and you’re happy
You don’t wanna settle down
But when love comes calling
Don’t you turn it around
When love comes calling
Don’t turn it down
So if you find yourself falling
Don’t try and grab a hold
If you find yourself falling
You’ve got to just let go
‘Cos when love comes calling
There’s no yes or no
When love comes calling
You’ve got to go
You can get caught up in living
And forget who for
You can be making a living
And hardly living at all
But when love comes calling
What do you want more?
When love comes calling
You’ve got to answer the call
And if hard times should come
When they come around
You just remember
How you stood your ground
And when love came calling
You didn’t turn it around
When love came calling
You didn’t turn it down
